Wadi Degla's victory sent them 3 points clear to the top of the league ahead of Etisilat, which leveled 1-1 against Gomhoriet Shebeen.
First half
The first half started off with both sides challenging who will score the first goal of the game. Wadi Degla netted the first goal in the 30th minute by Ahmed Atta. Al Sharkia tried to equalize the score, but Wadi Degla’s solid defense succeeded in protecting their net. Both teams continued their balanced performance, but the last shot from Al Sharkia was really close to equalizing the score. Haitham Mohamed, the great goalkeeper, succeeded in preventing Al Sharkia from scoring, and this was the last chance of the first half.
Second half
The second half showed Wadi Degla's better performance with more attacking pressure and more chances and threats on Al Sharkia's defense.Three minutes later, Ahmed Atta scored the second goal in the 48th minute using his height. Al Sharkia couldn’t get back into the match and seemed as if they were ready to give up and lost focus on the game. Ashor Al Tekky scored the third goal in the 58th minute with a stunning shot. Al Sharkia had nothing to do other than protecting their net from more goals. Mohamed Al Hosary refused to end the match before scoring a goal, and he did with a free kick like previous matches. Wadi Degla lost so many chances, but were still able to end the match with more goals. One of the funny and strange things which happened this match by Al Sharkia fans was after the third goal, they started supporting Wadi Degla. We also have to mention the great part from Wadi Degla fans, who came to this away match to support their team and help them win.
With this result, and according to other results, Wadi Degla still remains on top of the league with 3 points between Wadi Degla and Etisalat, which had a draw today against Gomhoriet Shebeen.
