Wadi Degla 0-0 Gasco

Wednesday 21/4/2010

Wadi Degla remains in first place with the same 3 points difference from second place Etisalat, and takes another step closer towards ending the season in first place. Wadi Degla battled one of the toughest matches at home against Gasco ending it in a goaless draw.

First half
The first half started for both teams with no intention from who was going to attack first. Both team’s players were passing the ball around a lot to find spaces, which show how both teams are organized and looking for good balance through the 90 minutes. Gasco started to attack using strong shots away from their target, which happened many times trying to gain confidence, but the hosts stopped it and got the first chance in the 7th minute through Wisdom, who made a great sprint and passed long to Wael Abd El Fatah, but Gasco's Goalkeeper saved it. The visitors responded with another chance by their striker, but it passed beside the left bar. Both team’s players continued attacking and were equally matched from both sides. Gasco controlled most of the first half, especially the middle of the field by trying to make dangerous shots through it, but Wadi Degla's solid defense and Hitham Mohamed, the goalkeeper, saved these chances several times. The last chance was through El Hosseni, Wadi Degla's defender, trying to score with a brilliant header, but it got away and the first half ended with no goals for both teams.

Second half
A very strong half from the beginning from both sides, and they were able to score in the first 5 minutes. In the 56th minute, there was a great shot by Gasco, but Hitham succeeded in saving it. Wisdom tried to score after this chance through a cross ball by El Hossary, and it was very close. These 10 minutes were the best for Wadi Degla with many close chances. One of them was a strong shot by Wisdom, but Gasco’s goalkeeper succeeded in saving it by sending it to a corner. Gasco controlled most of the second half and Wadi Degla were depending on counter attacks. One of these serious chances was through Mohamed El Hosary, a strong shot saved by Gasco's goalkeeper. By the end of the second half, in the 81st minute, Ashour had a good chance to score, but it hit the bar, and that was the last chance of the match.
