After winning this match against Banha, 1-0 at home, it's down to only one match, the final match of the season, and only one point is needed to complete the dream of playing in the Egyptian Premier League (1st Division).
This was a very important match as the season was coming to an end and all points were needed to secure the promotion and victory. Wadi Degla fans felt this and the stands were full with supporters, who came to cheer their team to victory.
First half
The first half started offensively from Wadi Degla’s side, always trying to score early to score more goals. Both teams eagerly needed the three points, as Wadi Degla needed to secure 1st place, and Banha needed to escape from demotion. In the early minutes, a very strong shot by Wisdom was close to the bar. Four minutes after Barakat tried to send a ball to Ahmed Atta, the tall striker, but was saved by Banha defense. Wadi Degla lost their balance after the first 20 minutes and Banha were dangerous with the counter attacks. Wadi Degla tried to attack Banha again, and this time were successful in scoring in the 42nd minute. It started with a long pass from Mohamed El Hossary to Wisdom, who passed it to Ahmed Atta to score the first goal for Wadi Degla.
Second half
This half started defensively by Wadi Degla, the opposite of the first half. Wadi Degla controlled the midfield, but with no chances on scoring a goal. In the 56th minute, Banha started to attack and seek for chances to score the draw, and the guests controlled the match since then. Hitham Mohamed ,as usual, saved Wadi Degla from the draw several times. The most dangerous chance was in the 82nd minute from a free kick that hit Wadi Degla’s bar. Finally the match came to an end and Wadi Degla won the three points needed to secure 1st position clear by three points from Dakhleya, who won their match and six points from Etisalat, who lost.
Now its only down to one match and one point away from 1st Division…
